A building’s roof is its first and most important line of defense against the elements, the sun, the rain, the snow. Imagine a beautifully remodeled house with a leaky roof. All that hard work would go to waste if it’s ruined by water coming through the roof.
Or imagine a house with great insulation and brand new windows but an old and worn-out roof. The house would be extremely energy inefficient despite the owner’s efforts to insulate the walls and install new windows to save energy. Most of a buildings heat is lost through its roof.
